Surplus Removal (NSFW)
Published March 19, 2025Tera found the ways of humans baffling, sometimes.
She'd arrived at the town of Polar days before and offered her services to any interested parties, in exchange for a list of goods her tribe requested. The same ritual she'd done many times before. And every time, without fail, she would receive a task that seemed too absurd to be real.
Sure, humans were tiny, weak little things - she knew that her standards when it came to labor were a bit skewed. But for every job hauling lumber, demolishing structures, or some other respectable work - she'd be getting boats unstuck, sitting on piles of hay to compress them, or throwing a pumpkin really hard because, "it'd look really cool".
But today - as a full cart dragged behind her, and her heavy footsteps left deep imprints in the muddy woodland path - was possibly the strangest task she'd been given.
She'd found herself at a local farm, peering down at an older gentleman and maybe a dozen sealed wooden barrels. He explained the barrels were all full to the brim with apples from the latest harvest - almost two entire tons of fruit. Hearing that description caused a shiver to rocket up Tera's scuted back. And, more obviously, for her pronounced stomach to make itself known with a loud grumble.
"Oh!- Uh, haha, my apologies-" Tera had quickly said, feeling embarrassment creeping onto her face. "It's been a busy day, I've hardly eaten a thing."
She thought back to her breakfast that morning, consisting of several buckets of milk, five loaves of bread, and a basket of fruit. She could still feel the meal hanging heavy across her three stomachs. And that was to say nothing of lunch. The people here didn't have a very good frame of reference for how much an Onid ate - thank God - but it didn't stop them from watching Tera devour her meals across the day, the same way someone might watch a car compactor turn a Prius into a metal desk ornament.
But - thankfully - the farmer didn't notice, or care, and continued explaining how the farm was over quota for that harvest. They were overstock, and so, in exchange for some a supply of chains and rope, they asked that Tera take the 12 barrels of apples and dump them in the ocean.
And that was how she found herself now, making the trek to the coastal cliffs of Magnolia, hauling a wooden cart with enough food to feed a family of four for a month. Provided they didn't get sick of apples. Her stomach let out another hungry, desperate growl - outside the company of others, it made no attempt to hide its voracity.
She'd asked - oh, so, these are all bad apples then, right? Rotten or otherwise unfit for consumption? And no, the farmer clarified - all good, edible, but due to machinations of the economy they neither could nor wanted to understand, goods that needed to be destroyed.
A lot of people found the practice disgusting, rightfully so. Perfectly good food, in surplus, destroyed while people went hungry, to keep the economy in check. What a horrible system would lead to such obvious waste.
But Tera wasn't thinking about that. The first thought in her mind was to put one foot in front of the other, feel the weight of the cart dragging behind her, and carry out her job to make her tribe proud. Everyone was counting on her.
The second, third, fourth - and many more to follow - thought in her head was that she should stop, tear open the barrels, and glut herself on the fruit until she passed out. They wanted it gone anyways, right? What difference would it make, dissapearing into the ocean, versus her bottomless gullet. If anything, fishing apples out of the ocean was easy - anyone could just come along and scoop them out of the water. If they wanted them really gone, her digestive tract was a much safer option, surely.
She winced. No, no - she continued along, using a free arm to push low hanging (8' tall) tree branches out of her face. Sure, no one would see her, but she'd have to walk around the rest of her trip sporting a gut the size of the wagon behind her. It was hard enough navigating human spaces at her current size, it'd be irresponsible. She nodded, satisfied with her rationale, and continued along.
Still, her stomach growled in protest. She sighed and, hoping to calm the sensation, reached one arm down to cradle her sizable paunch. As she did, though - one of the ropes pulling the cart, slung around her shoulder, began to slip. She noticed and - in turning to her side to try and grab it - pulled the cart unevenly forward with her other shoulder. Despite the weight of its contents, the cart was no match for pure Onid strength, and toppled on its side, barrels tumbling out onto the path.
Tera turned, eyes wide, cursing in her native tongue. She unslung herself from the cart and stepped over, hoping this little setback wouldn't delay her voyage long. She began trying to right the cart, when she saw it.
One of the barrels had hit a rock and broken open, spilling its cargo over the path. Hundreds of glistening, succulent red apples. Hardly even brusied. The color was so vibrant against the dull browns of the dirt road, the rest of the forest may well have not even existed.
Tera's stomachs growled again. This time, they weren't asking.
She knelt beside the spilled barrel, gingerly picking up a single apple. It looked comically small in her giant clawed hands. She bit her lip, feeling a growing anticipation in herself.
"... Just one." She said to no one, tossing the apple in her mouth. Humans apparently cut the core out - she never understood why. The whole species excelled at wasting food, apparently.
The moment the skin broke beneath her teeth, a warm sweetness exploded across her mouth, her eyes widening in shock. She'd been walking for hours now, the whole time wondering what her cargo tasted like. And yet despite that anticipation, the apple was even more delicious than she'd imagined.
And just like that, any pretense of having 'just one' was gone (Not that she'd really convinced herself to begin with). Tera fell to her knees with a mighty thud, and began scooping up handfuls of apples - maybe 4 or 5 in a hand - and shoveling them into her waiting, hungry maw, apple juice dribbling down her chin. Her long, thick neck bulged outwards, the piles of fruit visibly traveling down into her steadily swelling gut. This was, technically, fulfilling the job, she thought. Or, she might have thought that, if there was anything going through her dino brain besides a ravenous desire to eat, and eat, and eat. It took scooping a handful of dirt into her mouth for Tera to realize she'd tore through the entire barrel, her hands desperately pawing at the ground in search of any remaining fruit. The whole thing had taken a minute, maybe two.
She blinked, feeling herself return to reality. Thoughts beyond mindless consumption were on the table, again. Alright, you've had your fun, she thought. She stood upright, feeling the weight of her meal drag her stomach down as she staggered to her feet. Her belly was visibly more swollen, but not that much. She could easily pass it off without anyone making a fuss. Beneath the surface, she could feel the several hundred pounds of food churning through her digestive system. She rested her hands on her shelf of a stomach, feeling the idle rumbling and movement through her palms.
A happy sigh escaped her juice-smeared lips. Alright. Back to work.
She turned to look at the cart again. And, by extension, she looked at the 11 other barrels of apples. And despite her visibly, audibly full stomachs, she felt a violent pang of hunger from deep within herself. Her eyes went wide again.
"More." She said, in a breathy, feverish tone.
She scrambled over and picked up a full barrel in her hands - without a moments hesitation, she grabbed the top and tore it off with the sound of splintering wood and snapping metal restraints. That same red ambrosia filled the container.
Using her hands was slow, and she was too hungry - no, starving, to wait for that. She brought the barrel up - having to snake her long neck down a bit to reach - and tipped it over, letting the contents spill down her open mouth. She feverishly chewed, swallowed - whatever she needed to get as many apples in her as fast as possible. Her throat bulged out even more, as the barrel vanished into her stomachs. She could feel the muscles in her legs needing to activate, begin exerting actual effort as her teal-yellow gut ballooned out, churning and growling, dragging the rest of her down with it.
But however inconvenient the weight was, or however tight her belly was feeling, those sensations were an insignificant speck next to the euphoric sense of gluttony filling Tera's mind. The barrel was emptied and she tossed it aside, wasting no time fetching another, cracking it open like a cheap beer, and guzzling another few hundred pounds of fruit. She could hear the audible gulping of each mouthful, the sound of her neck muscles working overtime to force everything into her gut. Music to her ears.
By barrel number three, gravity stopped pulling it's punches. Tera once again fell to her knees, unable to focus on her mindless feasting while also keeping her increasingly front-heavy frame upright. She shivered, feeling the underside of her now enormous gut press against the cool, damp earth, the first actual resistance to her otherwise expanding midsection. Not that it put up much of a fight, there was plenty of space in every other direction for her to grow.
And grow she did. Barrels three and four vanished, and as they did Tera felt her monstrous gut spreading her legs apart, demanding more and more clearance. On the plus side, it had grown so engorged and round that she found herself leaning against it for support. Her body was - perhaps justifiably - sending every signal it could to say "Ok, that's enough!! you DEFINITELY have enough food in you now!!", but unfortunately for it, Tera's gluttonous instincts had won the argument long before it even began.
Barrels five, six, and seven went much the same. She could actually feel her throat muscles beginning to grow fatigued - even she wasn't one to pig out like this, usually, and this was a workout they weren't used to. After she polished off barrel seven, she tossed it aside, gasping for breath. She needed a moment to rest. And - oh right, breathing. That was important too.
She peered down, still breathing heavily. Where there had once been the greens and browns of the forest floor, there was only the blue of Tera's engorged stomach. It was beginning to rival Tera herself in size, pushing her bust up towards her collar, and everything else outwards. There was a small ridge of dirt and debris surrounding it, displaced from just how quickly it had ballooned.
Tera looked to the cart again. Five left. Any reasonable person would stop here - or, more realistically, about 7 barrels ago. Tera licked juices off her fingers, her eyes locked on the remaining stock. She was, of course, far from reasonable.
Only now, her monstrous gluttony proved an obstacle. She tried to rise to her feet to walk to the remaining barrels, as if suddenly she didn't have a literal ton of weight tied to her, and found herself unable to do so. She peered down at her globe of a stomach, again, feeling her face flush, as the reality of what she was doing really set in for the first time. She couldn't show her face in town after this - not out of embarrassment, she literally didn't think she would be capable of moving that far.
But the few feet to the rest of the food?
She braced against her own taut gut, grunting in exertion as she dug her feet into the earth, pushing herself forward. The weight wasn't really an issue - she'd been pulling almost double this moments ago - but having it all attached to you raised a whole new logistical nightmare. She felt her belly drag against the ground, a surprisingly pleasant experience all things considered. She let out an almost drunken, giddy giggle, feeling the earth itself massage her bloated stomach.
Moving the 3 or so feet in the time Tera did wouldn't be setting any land speed records any soon. But, it was done. She made sure to position herself so she wouldn't be impeded by... herself, trying to grab the remaining barrels. All that was left now was to finish the job, like a good, responsible Onid should.
Number eight went down quickly. It was as though in the mere minutes between seven and eight, Tera had completely forgotten what the apples tasted like, and she got to re-experience her first bites all over again. A euphoric rush swept over her, and she felt her chubby tail instinctively wag back and forth in excitement. Despite now containing well over a ton of food, she was in no way satisfied.
Number nine, much the same. The feeling of her tight, creaking ball of a stomach was, admittedly, becoming harder to ignore. More troubling - beyond the food itself, she could feel a burbling well of digestive gasses building up through her labyrinthine network of stomachs and intestines, taking up space that should be reserved for more food. By this point, too, her neck and top were spattered with apple juice, the Onid having made very little effort to be neat about any of this. One last, enormous mound of food snaked down her neck, landing in her guts with a resonant gurgle.
Ten, eleven. Truthfully, Tera hadn't been counting - it was less about the distinct barrels and more the continuous, hedonistic flow of calories into her body. Normally a bit shy about her appetite, a whole stadium could be watching her now, for all she cared. Id, ego - they were taking a back seat at the moment. Not to hunger - Tera figured out a long time ago she wasn't just hungry. Hunger served a purpose, could be satiated. It came and went. Whatever this was, it was a constant, perpetual in her mind. Always, always begging for more, more, more.
Barrel twelve was, disappointingly, only about half full. Though this might have been a blessing in disguise - despite her carnal desire for more, her body was just about at it's limits. She let the last few apples tumble down her throat, gulping them down in one final swallow. That was it. She was done.
She instinctively leaned forward, once again panting and taking deep breaths, only to find her chin resting comfortably atop her mound of stomach. She looked down - only a crescent of the forest was visible over the horizon of her obscene, packed stomach. Through her chin and neck she felt it gurgling, working overtime to deal with the mess it's owner had crammed into it.
Deep breaths. She felt something akin to adrenaline wearing off. Slowly, warily - almost like approaching a wild animal - she let her arms rise up to press her hands against the sides of her belly. She let out an involuntary gasp as she did, her already overstimulated, stretched nerve endings feeling the gentle pressure against them. There was barely - if any - give to the surface of her skin, every possible amount of space occupied by her meal.
She looked to her side. Before, she had already taken more or less the full width of the path, her hips almost as wide as the cart she'd been dragging. Now, she well and fully blocked the whole thing, her belly spilling over either edge of the dirt and into forest proper.
She smiled. She couldn't help but smile. It felt amazing. There were times she almost forgot, truly, what a monstrous glutton she was. Sure, it was a little embarrassing to show off, at times, but God. What a feeling, to indulge it. What a feeling...
She frowned. Wait, what was that feeling. A deep, ominous gurgle emanated from her gut. Somewhere in one of her stomachs, a burbling sensation began creeping up through her body, each moment growing stronger, more potent. What started as a gentle tingle now felt like a roiling boil, now forcing its way up her long neck, visibly bulging as it demanded to escape.
"bBHOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUURRRRROoooOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUOHHHHGGHRRRP-"
The force of it nearly knocked Tera back, were it not for her newfound two-ton anchor holding her down. The trees around her shook, leaves falling to the ground in wake of a sound that would have put the most fearsome beasts roar to shame. Somewhere in the distance, an animal ran off. She instinctively drew a fist to her mouth, as though any kind of courtesy could mask the absurdity of the noise she'd just made.
God, she thought, looking down at herself, a quiet grin on her otherwise flush face.
The farm eventually had shipments sent out along that same path, a man on horseback guiding a wagon of goods between the trees. He'd found the upturned cart a few miles down the path, unmistakably one of theirs, surrounded by a mess of destroyed wooden barrels - a distinct fruity smell hung in the air.
Of course, that held his attention for all of maybe 3 seconds. Behind it, what would grab most people's attention, was a wall of wobbling, doughy blue and yellow fat. A colossal, flabby tummy, 8 feet tall and many more wide. It spilled over the edges of the path, rendering any attempt at passing by all but impossible.
The man - dumbfounded, walked around, eventually spotting the rest of Tera. Her pudgy face sat atop a thick pillar of fat that might have once been her neck, her enormous breasts spilling out to either side, adorned with shreds of her former clothing like sprinkles on a cake. Speaking of, as much as her belly blocked, her gigantic posterior did an admirably job filling the width of the path, as well.
The two stared at one another. Tera wiggled one of her arms, encased in tires of rolling fat, in a gesture that might have been a wave.
"Uhm.. Hi!" She chirped. She turned to look at the cart the man had been dragging.
"... So. Uh. I haven't eaten in a few days-"
From beneath feet of fat, the man heard her stomach growl.
